Stack Up Goodness Food Drive

Food insecurity has always been a pressing issue, but never has there been a better year to take action.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic hardship many faced as a result, more members of our community than ever are experiencing difficulty accessing one of the most basic human needs: sustenance. The Ballard Food Bank (and many others like it across the U.S.) has seen unprecedented numbers of people in need of assistance since the start of the pandemic, many of whom have never been to a food bank before.

Fortunately, this is also the year that Ballard Food Bank’s new Community Resource Hub opened and began providing services. In addition to the Community Resource Hub’s expanded case management services, public health services, housing assistance, mental health treatment, and veteran services, the larger space allows them to provide more food-insecure individuals and families with groceries than ever before.

We’re excited to see the positive impact these expanded resources will have on our community. In the hopes of supporting the Ballard Food Bank Community Resource Hub in their continued efforts, all Lux locations will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items for the entire month of December!

MOST-NEEDED ITEMS:

• Soups and chili
• Peanut Butter
• Mac and Cheese
• Canned Tuna, Chicken or Salmon
• Top Ramen or Cup Noodles
• Individual Oatmeal
• Individual or full-sized cereals
• Pasta (all varieties)
• 1-2 lb bags of rice
• Coffee

If you’re able to help out this great organization, bring any of the items listed above to the donation box at any Lux location by December 31st!
