Green is inarguably the patron color of the cannabis industry. From the products, we carry in our stores, to the potential for economic change, green rules everything around us. 420 is definitely the most “green” holiday of the year in cannabis, but St. Patrick’s day comes in at a close second! This year, St. Paddy’s falls on a Saturday. Throughout the city, the usual spots will be filled with green revelers, leprechaun hats, and Guinness. So, if you’re looking to get in on the holiday-fun, here are our favorite authentic Irish Pubs to check out.

Conor Byrne – Ballard, Seattle, WA

Conor Byrne is inarguably one of the most beautiful bars in the city, with one of the best music lineups to boot. The venue itself has existed for 120 years and boats a beautiful, wooden back bar (originally the first bar top), that is itself 100 years old. Although the name of this establishment has changed over the years, it is one of the longest-running drinking establishments west of the Mississippi. Their live music rotation is incredible and features everything from Irish Music to Indie bands, and even a weekly “Old-Timey Social” featuring aging Bluegrass musicians, every Tuesday. Great food, creative cocktails, exposed brick walls, in the heart of Old Ballard – Conor Byrne is truly a neighborhood gem.

Shawn Odonell’s American Grill and Irish Pub – Fremont and Downtown, Seattle, WA

Acclaimed as Washington State’s ‘Best Irish Bar’ by Buzzfeed last year, this family owned and operated Pub prides itself on its locally sourced ingredients, low energy appliances, and compost-waste lifestyle — a truly green way to operate a restaurant. They opened their third location, in Fremont in January 2017, which has a great patio and an excellent selection of eats (the burgers are incredible) and don’t miss out on their authentic Boxty cakes!

Mulleady’s – Magnolia, Seattle, WA

Do you like Whiskey? Then you’ll love Mulleady’s. Mulleady’s proudly hosts the largest collection of Whiskey on the West Coast, with rare Irish imports and even extinct offerings. In addition, their beer taps host a rotating feature of local brewers and breweries, who are also customers at the Pub. They pride themselves on being a humble place, with great food, and a welcoming environment. If you’re looking to kick back, enjoy a fine drink and some good eats this weekend, their hybrid Irish-Pacific Northwest menu is worth checking out.

T.S. McHugh’s – Queen Anne, Seattle, WA

Located in Lower Queen Anne, T.S. McHugh’s stays close to its Irish roots in everything from coffee selection to decor. Their hunter-green storefront and red paned windows, with seasonally changed flower boxes, stands out amongst the typical architecture of the neighborhood. Four vintage pub lights cast a soft glow across the façade, creating an incredibly inviting entryway, compared to many of the neon storefronts around them. Serving only authentic Irish fare, you’ll find a wide variety of pot pies, seafood dishes, soda breads and more than 30 single malt scotches. It might be the storefront that draws you in, but it’ll be the ambience that keeps you coming back.

Kell’s Irish Restaurant and Bar – Pike Place Market, Seattle, WA

Kell’s is Seattle’s most iconic Irish Pub, found in the world-famous Pike Place Market. Nearly everything on the menu is a family recipe and they’ve remained family owned throughout their 35 years in Post Alley. With a cobblestone entry, live Irish music every night, and a warm, comforting environment, they guarantee guests will feel like they’ve been transported to the ‘Old Country.’ If you can’t make it in this weekend for their annual St. Patrick’s Festival, we highly recommend popping in on a Sunday morning for a traditional Irish Breakfast.
